Suddenly Gold?

Only manage to make Silver status each year when I do the few stays in rural areas with no SPG or Hyatts. So imagine my suprise when I logged into my account to see I am now now GOLD?!?

Then I remembered getting a brochure mailing - just dug it up and all it says is "Exclusive earning opportunities are coming your way".... didnt think much of it when it was sent. Thinking this may be why I am now Suddenly Gold.

I saw the thread on challenges, etc but I didnt get nor request such a challenge.

Did anyone else get this? Any idea what "opportunities are coming my way"?

They do sometimes enroll people in challenges without telling them.

Same thing with me. Finished 2014 with 38 nights, so not enough for gold. I also got the "exciting opportunities are coming your way" flyer in the mail. I haven't heard anything, so it will be interesting to see what this is.

Looking at my promotions, the "Taste of Gold" shows up saying:
"The first of your exclusive earning opportunities has arrived. As part of this special group, you’ve been automatically upgraded to enjoy Gold Elite status for three months.
To enjoy your Gold Elite status upgrade for even longer:
Stay* 6 times between April 1 and June 30, 2015
Enjoy Gold Elite status through February 2017
Plus, look for more exclusive opportunities coming your way."

Thanks - I went back into my account and see the same Taste of Gold promo showing up in my account.

Same here. Got the mailer and was pleasantly surprised to see the Gold status yesterday via "Taste of Gold" promo. I was going to make Gold anyway with a few nights in April. But great to get a head start.
