Marriott PR Visa and Delta Question
Hello:
This is my first post here. I have recently started traveling a lot and am finding that there a lot of opportunities to get value out of my trips and also lots of places to miss out on opportunities to earn points/miles/etc.
I have been using the Marriott rewards program since last October. I opened the Chase Marriott Premier Visa for the signup bonus and have really been enjoying the benefits.
Anyway, I am curious about peoples' experiences with earning Delta miles through the Marriott rewards program. Their website says that you earn to Delta miles for each dollar spent at Marriott locations.
I have the Premier Visa. Whats happens when the points I earned from the monthly spend and/or Marriott bonus spend points earned from the Visa are transferred to Marriott. Would they then be automatically converted to Skymiles, or would they remain Marriott points?
In addition, do you think the Skymiles or the Marriott points hold more value?
I feel like I have been getting at least 1 cent per Marriott point. I was recently looking at a Delta flight that cost $626, but was redeemable for 50,000 points. So maybe the miles are worth more?
I will inevitably use either form of rewards currency. Thanks in advance for your help!

You can exchange marriott points directly into Delta points but they are not 1:1.
The best exchange for points to get miles is to use what are called travel packages. Just do a search.
For 270K marriott points you can get 7 nights in a category 1-5 hotel plus 120K marriott miles. Or 132K United miles. Or miles in a bunch of other airlines:
