Renaissance Guiyang
Took a chance on this one booked 4 nights and was pleasantly surprised. An amazing Renaissance property easily the best Marriott property and value for money or points we have stayed in Asia during these past 7 months,>150 nights at Marriotts. The design and finishing, from wool carpets in the hallways, extensive marble in public areas reminded me of Ritz Carlton standards. But perhaps the most kudos should go to the staff. At check-in, first impression, we were warmly welcomed and treated as guests, Kelly and all the staff in the CL were first class and must not forget Summer in the BLD cafe. Breakfast was either in the CL or at the BLD, evenings in the CL a choice of 6 mains plus the usual salad, cheese, cold cuts, appetizers, sushi, breads, and selection of desserts. The only downside is the location. It is in a new area still being developed so no downtown amenities or entertainment nearby. Situated across road from new convention center so this property caters mostly to business clientele. However a subway system is currently under construction and nearby is the high speed railway station also under construction, completion in 2016. A bus stop outside of hotel is 1 Yuan to downtown and takes 1 hour, or taxi 40 yuan and 25 minutes. Next to the hotel is a huge nature reserve with many kilometers of jogging or walking trails. An ideal property to chill out and breathe fresh air, after the major tier one cities in China

Thanks for the trip report. Much appreciated!
Since it's Asia I'm assuming the answer is yes, but is the exec lounge open on the weekends?
Cheers.

Yes, open every day. On the Saturday evening we were the only guests in the lounge, weekends very low occupancy, during the week about 80-85% occupancy.
