Downtown STL changes

Sounds like there are some changes potentially coming to the Washington Avenue area Marriott properties. IMO this would be a great thing as the Renaissance Grand is very outdated and another option - even though it would be a Courtyard - is still better than an empty building.

1. Renaissance Grand sold - to be remodeled

2. Renaissance Suites to potentially become a Courtyard

"The Renaissance Suites Hotel is a separate building from the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel main tower downtown, which is St. Louis convention center hotel. "

Cheers.

Thanks. I am staying at the Grand (my first time) later this month and didn't want to miss out on anything!

They are across the street (diagonally) from each other. The Suites has been closed for probably 2 years or so now. I thought they were planning on converting them to apartments/lofts, but the news of a potential Courtyard broke this week.

The Grand is just OK, nice lobby but very average rooms. Good location on Washington Ave to hit restaurants, bars, etc at night and pretty safe to walk around. PM me if you have any other questions as I probably stay at that hotel 3X a month.
