Points or E certs per night?

I searched Flyertalk and can't find. Does anybody know if I can book multiple rooms per night using points and/or E certs at the same hotel? Was going to let a few family members have one when meeting for a family event.

technically no, as certs are not transferable and you can only sleep in 1-bed, but in practice yes............
