Goodbye Drew -

Long time Marriott veterans may remember back to 2007 - 2010 or so when a gentleman (and I use that term specifically) worked as the FT MC. His name was Drew - not ANdrew of today....just Drew. Found out this week he has moved out of the Rewards/Social Network career path into an actual hotel property.

Although he has not been truly active on FT as of late, there was a time his presence made a real difference for many of us.

Drew - best of luck, you have been, and will be, missed.

+1. He'll be an asset to his new property.

Cheers.

Oh I thought Drew is a female name (Drew Barrymore) - He has definitely been helpful and nice.

Wish him luck!

What about Marie? Still a MC? She is very nice too.

I hadn't ever thought of that - but I think MS Barrymore may be the exception to the Drew/gender match-up!

Unfortunately, Marie has been gone for a awhile - she was moved off for a "special project" and never returned.

Only my opinion of course, but I thought FT received the best support was when Drew and Marie were our advocates.

Oh I really miss Marie - she was super nice to us. Drew was nice too, but I didn't get as much through him than Marie (maybe Marriott has decided not to let them help us).

So is there a MC here at FT?

Barely. Marriott decided to shift its focus to Marriott Insiders. Plus some of the Marriott folk think FTers are a bunch of trouble makers (because we point out some of the problems). Marriott Concierge occasionally stops by here, but there have been reports of them not responding to multiple PMs by FTers when they need assistance (and not necessarily complaining). Starwood's Lurkers are much more active, so it's a for Marriott.

When Drew & Marie were involved, MC was much better. Wish them both success in whatever part of Marriott they work now.

Cheers.

What now happens to people who have commitments from Drew to change their current bonus promo to a different one after the promo period ends?

Seriously I don't think it will be an issue since it's email communication. Marriott is going to honour it.

Plus I would guess that your commitment is from Andrew and not Drew...

IIRC it's via PM on FT rather than email. I'll have to double check the name.

Still it's written proof. Marriott can see that it's from their own people and it really ought to be ok. If you are still worried, try to write on MR wall to see if you can get an answer.

Waaayyy off topic, but I believe the "Drew" for Ms Barrymore comes from the actor family that figures prominently in her family tree.
