promotion certificate question

I had a stay during the spring promotion that carried over the cutoff date, should have generated a certificate and didn't.

I sent an email note to Marriott Rewards and got a nice reply back and a "79A Global Promotion Replacement Reward" appeared in my account.

Does anyone know what the rules are on this cert? It looks pretty generic. I assumed it would match what the Spring reward was 1-4 (I think?)

Anyone know offhand?

You are correct, the same rules that apply to the 1-4 cert applies to this cert as well.

I got the same thing...since it was applied in June, I hope they dont think that is from the MegaBonus for summer promotion. I want to make sure I get my additional 3 for that promo...how are the summer MegaBonus certs coded (for those that already have them in their account)?

Mine says "2013 Mid-Year Promo Free Night Certificate, Category 1-4 Hotel" in one place and "95J 2013 PROMO FREE NT CAT 1-4" in another (for the same certificate).

I searched and came up with this thread. My Marriott replacement award is listed as Global Promotion Replacement Reward (12 month)

I can't remember if I had extended a Cat 4 or 5, or is possible this is valid for different hotel category.

I'm assuming it is showing up in your online account? If so, you could try to make a one night award reservation for a Cat. 6 or higher hotel and see if you can choose that award cert for that reservation. The online system won't let you use a Cat. 1-5 cert for a Cat. 6 or hotel.

Try a Category 5 hotel. If it takes it, it was a Cat 5 property. If not, repeat and see if it takes a Cat 4 hotel. Likely yes, and then you know what Category it is for.
