Marriott Map?

Hi,

Is there a way to map Marriott properties across a state or region?

I was planning a road trip from Sacramento through Northern California, and there's no easy way to find where Marriott are sprinkled. I can sit and pick cities one at a time, and sure the map shows nearby ones, but only within limits. It's very tedious to pick one city at a time, and if I pick Santa Rosa it doesn't show me there's a Fairfield 50-60 miles up 101 along my route, which might be a more convenient stopover for me.

Sometimes it would be very handy to me, to plan my routing and stopovers for a roadtrip. The listing of hotels by state is a simple list not a map, and doesn't help me all that much because most times I don't know the city or think it's somewhere other than where it is.

This might work although it might not be all inclusive.

Plot your start & end points in google maps and map it

Type Marriott in the google search bar. I got big red dots and smaller dots too.

Zoom / click on for details.

Looks like it has to have "Marriott" in the name as CY, TPS & RI's seem to do but Renesances and Ritz Carltons do not...

Good luck!

i usually enter a city name, zoom out, expand the results to '40' and then 'edit' the URL to have more results showing up:

example:
1- URL after search looks like: https://www.marriott.com/search/findHotels.mi
2- Expand to 40 hotels: https://www.marriott.com/search/refi...ordsPerPage=40
3- Edit the URL and change the '40' to '100' for example: https://www.marriott.com/search/refi...rdsPerPage=100

Either of the above methods work pretty well.

I also suggest that you check out this GPS POI file. Instructions on the website.

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/3724

Almost 3000 properties in the US. Marriott should assist one or more of these 3rd party POI sites with worldwide assistance, and should also consider making a Google map with current properties.

But then, someone might ask for a better iPad/iPhone app ...

Go to the "Find and Reserve" at Marriott.com.

Don't put in a city, just select the state.

Click on "Find" and you'll get a map of the state with Marriott properties shown. You can hover your cursor over the icons and get more information as to type, location, and price.

Do that with the states along your route (and neighboring states, if you'll be traveling near a border) and plot your course that way.

It worked well for us during a trip to the Southwest last year.

While you can't do this by province in Canada, at present there are only 84 properties in all of Canada (include one not yet open, but already on the website), so if you put in just Canada as the country, it'll bring up a map of Canada (sorted by city but not by province, so it'll jump around the country), and if you set it show 40 per page (the default is 20), in just 2.1 pages you'll see them all on the map.

This works for any country (other than the US, where for practical reasons you have to go by state).

Also keep in mind that until you Expand Map, you may not see every hotel on the map. (Prior to expansion, the map is simply cut off, not just shrunk.)

Just go to the 'Hotel Directory' section of the website. Click on relevant country/state. It will map out all the hotels for you.

There is an interactive map that someone put together back in 2007. Not sure if they keep it up to date (Topic about Marriott map). Sadly, even though it is a google map, doesn't look like you can use other google map features with it like directions.

Previously there was a search feature to find hotels along a route on Marriott.com. It was cut during one of the "enhancements"

Thanks for the ideas, but the "Hotel Directory" function is atrocious.

The pull down offers choices for either 20 or 40 per page. There are 301 locations in California!

Using the trick to edit the PerPage in the URL line, works strangely. I could go up to 108 but no higher. When I was at 108 it would show the first 108 correctly but next page errored out. When I set to 100, it at least worked for next page. I could for example this way see on the 3rd page the Ukiah location which was along my travel route. However it's impossible to see all 301 locations on a single map, which was my goal.

Ah well.

Does not work for China.
