Question Making gold for $329?????

It may be that i'm in a unique situation because I can get Canadian and U.S. Credit cards. But it seems that I can get 50 nights of credit each year just by paying $329/year. This may help some of you out. If somehow I'm mistaken, please let me know.

My Current Marriott Canada card (no longer available) - $79 and 10 nights credit.

Marriott Premier Canada (new) - $120 and 15 nights credit.

Marriott Premier US - $85 and 15 nights credit.

Marriott Signature US - $45 and 10 nights credit.

Total is $329 and 50 nights credit.

I made Platinum on nights the past 4 years, but this year I'll barely hit 20. So this is quite attractive to me. I have great credit history and it seems to me that the free breakfast alone based on 20 nights is worth between $300 and $600/year, not to mention the concierge lounge, and free alcohol outside N.A.

Any reasons why I don't want to do this? And ignore my anticipated 20 free nights. I know that i can use those to save $120 by NOT getting the Marriott Premier Canada card, thereby dropping the total spend to $209 in fees, but we may as well just talk in terms of the benefit @ $329 a year to keep things simple!!

It just occurred to me that both the Canadian and the U.S. Premier cards each come with a free night at Cat. 1 to 5 hotel. So those are each worth at least $150 each, so it's like getting Gold for $29 a year

Because unlike SPG, you don't accumulate additional nights the more credit cards you have. You just get 15 nights for the premier product and that is it.

I actually did have nights from two (Canadian) credit cards post to my account. When I applied for the new Premier card, my nights had already posted for the old Plat card... and I got my 15 nights as well. So, a total of 25 bonus nights.

I did lock it for a while, but the OP makes the case that rules may be different in Canada, so I'm reopening it. Readers in the U.S. should be very cautious about trying to take advantage of this situation, whether or not it works in Canada.

Thanks Bruce, maybe you can add five or six question marks at the end of the title, so readers realize it's a question, rather than advice. thanks for unlocking

I had a PM discussion with him about that and I agreed with his analysis however remote it might be so good show.
