Canceling a e-cert. booking
Just want to confirm that I can cancel a stay booked with e-certificates (the free ones for cc sign up) and the certificates will revert back to my account?

this question has been asked and answered several times .............using the search feature before posting will provide you with your answer.............that being said, IF you cert is still valid if the res is CXLed the cert will go back into your acct WITH the original validity date............

If I recall it correctly: when you cancel an e-certificate booking, the marriott web site states that it cannot be canceled online but you have to call them to cancel the booking and get the cert back. This is of course not true - you can definitely cancel online (I have done so myself) but that's what their site says.

Does this still apply for new 2013 changes which start Thursday?

FYI update: not sure if this is due to the recent changes but when I booked with my certificate online and then canceled the reservation it was placed back into my account immediately...could also be because cancellation was made in less than 24 hours. Nonetheless new rules may be that you don't have to call to have certificate put back into account.
