pay for stay = points?

I've searched threads for Marriott Rewards + Priceline and havent found an answer. Many thanks in advance to all-
Booked Marriott Courtyard on Priceline. A special "PS" rate (pay as you stay) Not prepaid. 24 hour cancellation. I pay directly to Marriott when I stay. Called Marriott and added my MR# to my reservation. Will I earn points and stay credit?

The determining factor is if the rate is a wholesaler rate or not....if you are paying the hotel directly you are not on a wholesaler rate

For your future information, almost any time you find a rate like that, the better answer is to book the marriott.com rate and file a Look No Further claim. Then there is no question you will get points AND you will save an additional 25%.

The Marriott representatives definitely didn't tell you the truth. For 100% sure, you could submit the claim form (given that the room type and cancellation policy are the same). I have made some successful claim using priceline, no problem at all. And you don't have to worry about night/stay credit=)

They meant that opaque (name your own price) bookings are not eligible. Regular priceline direct reservations are.

Thanks to all for your assitance and suggestions.
Cancelled and rebooked according to LNF T&C's. Filed the form. Success!
Big savings as it is a 4 night stay. And always good to get the stay & point credit.
