A P-6?
I checked into the San Diego Marina Marriott and asked for a Plat suite upgrade. The person at the desk couldn't find any available in the computer. She got on the phone and told the person at the other end that a P-6 was checking in and asked if a suite was available for me. Eventually, the front desk manager came up, worked his magic and I found myself in a great room.
What is a P-6? A pushy Platinum Member?
This isn't the first time this hotel has gone out of their way for me, so I don't mind paying a bit more to stay there.

You don't necessarily have to be pushy to get an upgrade. But the way you handled it, seems to be the best way to receive recognition for your loyality. Anyway it worked. Congrats!!!
