Marriott Matching Status
Has anyone contacted Marriott about matching top tier status from another frequent stay program. I am currently diamond with Hyatt and want to ask Marriott to match with platinum membership (currently silver). Are Marriott receptive to this?

There are several threads about this. But, in short, it is possible. Though they are notoriously stingy when it comes to this. you may have to settle for a challenge.

Did A Search, Thread URLS Do Not Work
I too am wondering what the best procedure is or whom to contact about getting an MR status match. I have done a bit of reading, and am wondering if there is a particular person or office one should call/fax, etc. Also there are many threads with links to threads that no longer work, probably on the old system.

After giving them 1,000,000 dollars every other year in conference revenue, and showing them a statement of over 40 stays so far this year, I was given a gold challenge.
I told them that they were the challenged ones, and decided to keep my 75+ stays with starwood . . . and to favor starwoods for future conferences.
I wish certain programs would do a better analysis of challenge requests before defaulting to stingy mode. While I understand that some programs think most people are trying to get something for free through status match requests, they need to watch that some good candidates don't fall through the cracks.
