Marco Island for 2 nights @ 55K points

Is it worth 55,000 points for 2 nights over the Thanksgiving week? Or would you pay $159/night as advertised on their website. Especially with construction going on.

thanks in advance

Pick plan B. I was just there about 4 weeks ago...Construction is a huge pain in the a$$ down between the towers. I would negotiate that rate down if Marco was where I had to be. Go to the Ritz or come over to Miami side and try either new Trump-Sonesta Key or 4 Season. Both have great rates for newness.

If you are a Marriott junkie, disregard following, but if not, the Hilton Marco Island was $99 last I checked and it is a nice property.

Hi Socrates; my wife and I have award reservations for four nights over new year's for 95,000 points (as opposed to about $1250 for the four nights). We've never been there before, but are looking for a getaway for a few days (which we will combine with the Vinoy in St. Pete). After reading the above, I'm concerned as to what the situation will be at the end of December and whether this is a wise expenditure of points at this time. Also, do you have any suggestions as to how to best go about getting an upgrade there? Thanks, Mark
