T4 to LHR Marriott

I'm staying one night at the Heathrow Marriott arriving T4 around 8pm.
Just a couple of questions:

1.How frequent and reliable are the Hotel Hoppa buses from T4 to the hotel at this time of night?

2.How much will a taxi cost me fron the terminal to the hotel.

Thank you in advance for your help.

1. At that time of night I believe the Hoppa bus does a circuit of all the terminals, starting with 4. Last time we were there (a Saturday night) they were running about 1 hour apart to specific hotels. We were also going to the Marriott, but some buses would arrive and change their destination signs, so with the wait and the terminal tour, it was almost 90 minutes total before we arrived at the hotel.

2. On the night I mentioned many irate passengers chose this option, but I understand the cabbies don't like this short a run. Some who left the Hoppa area and went over to the nearby taxi stand returned and waited for the bus. One told me he wasn't going to "enter into negotiations" just to get to his hotel, however others left in cabs. We had bought our Hoppa tickets already, so taxi wasn't an option for us.

For reference we were in Terminal 3, but at that time of day I don't think there's a difference.

I recommend to take the public bus in order to reach the hotels around LHR. The public buses are free of charge and are much more reliable than the Hoppa bus. See this thread for a discussion about the public buses. The thread contains a link from Sprout informing about the location of the hotels and the bus routes. Bus 555/556/557 goes from T4 to the Marriott. It's a 1-2min walk from the bus station to the Marriott. Just ask the driver about the Marriott and he will tell you at the bus stop to exit the bus.
