Reservation in someone else's name?
Friends of mine want to go to the F1 race in Indianapolis in 2004. I am Plat. with Marriott and can get them a room at a decent rate. Is there a problem with me actually not going?
A disclaimer did come up saying that I can only make one reservation, *in my name*.

You could try to put your friend in as the 2nd guest in your online reservation. Then, reserve the room with your credit card, but have your friend pay for the room on his card.
It worked with my wife at the Santa Clara Marriott, when she checked in before I did, and she put the charges on her card. I came in at a later time and never saw the front desk during my stay.

Thanks, that's exactly what I did. The confirmation only lists my name though but I doubt they'll have a problem. Unless someone here tells me differently...

How does your platinum status help you with the room rate?
