Does Marriott Rewards backfill points?

Does Marriott Rewards backfill points?
Will Marriott Rewards honor (for points) a Marriott hotel stay back in January 2003, if I joined the program in July 2003? In other words, backfill points for me? That is, if I submit the receipt etc via fax of course.
