Which Fl resort?
Have two free tickets coming on United and lots and lots of Marriott points, Want to take a long weekend in feb to Fl for a little sun. Which of these three resorts would you recommend. Ritz Carlton on Amelia Islane, the Harbor Beach Marriott in Ft Lauderdale or the Marco Island Marriott. I tried to book the Ritz Carlton in Naples or the Ritz in Palm Beach using points but no luck but I can get anyone of these other three. Recommendations???

First off, I have never stayed at the Ritz so I can not speak for it.
Was at Marco Island in May and down at Harbor Beach in March. Both resorts are very nice. At first I would tell you Harbor Beach hands down. However, Marco Island grew on me as the stay progressed.
With that said, me and my wife choose Marco Island for October (we think it is a little better for kids). She is hoping the Spa is completed by then, but only time will tell.

I really like SE FLA and am very comfortable in Palm Beach and Broward, but I do not like Harbor Beach because it is attached to a time-share or some condos and those patrons tend to bring very large families with lots of children that neither the parents nor the resort control very well.
For an adult relaxation vacation, IMHO it is out.
For a family with children, it is probably very good.

If you like golf, tennis, and/or art (Dali), along with sun, you might consider the Renaissance Vinoy in St. Petersburg. Great historic hotel, beautifully restored as a tennis/golf resort overlooking the Gulf.

Have you thought about the new JWMarriott in Orlando - Great Lakes. I just returned yesterday and the resort is great. The pools are wonderful and there is a lazy river to float down. Hotel views are great.
Ask for a river/pool view. It is connected to the Ritz Carlton by a walkway. The Ritz Carlton SPA offers many services and the prices are affordable. Restaurants are very good and the decor is elegant.
