Consecutive stays with different rate types

Consecutive stays with different rate types
I'm looking to make a few mattress runs for the elite status challenge. If I booked 2 consecutive stays at the same hotel but using different rates (i.e. one stay on a pre-paid rate and the other on a AAA rate), would Marriott treat this as a single stay or would I get credit for both?
