Rewards question
I am thinking of switching from HHonors to Rewards and have a question. I went to the website and looked at what was available for redemption and I can only find one hotel in all of Italy- in Milan. Am I doing something wrong? .

Funny. My search for Italy turned up two properties.

The Rome hotel is one of the only ones in the world which doesn't take points.

Hilton has the Cavalieri(sp?) in Rome. I have more Marriott rewards than HHonors points, but I find that HHonors is more generous with rewards i.e. Rome. Although, HHonors award system is much more confusing

I really like the Marriott choices though and want to make the change. Thanks

After reading all your posts on the Rome Grand Flora, decided still to go ahead and call this morning with the seemingly ridiculous mission of booking two nights on reward here in mid-August - this year! (i.e. just under 4 weeks away).
Of course I thought it couldn't be done, but I had to satisfy my curiousity...
And you know how this story is going to end, don't you?

Two nights, booked, confirmed, confirmation in hand. Standard Cat 6 rededemption (didn't need to use "stay anytime" option)...
I'm still grinning and shaking my head in amazement, and I think I will be like that for the rest of today at least!

August is also considered off-peak. you can book some nice roman hotels at a substantial discount. The rates at the Grand Flora are outrageous (anytime)
