This has been long overdue. Other hotel chains have been doing this for several years. Hope they extend the offers internationally in the future. I don't understand, though, why Marriott doesn't plan to market these E-rates on their website. But, this is a good start.

Nothing I can see in the Terms and Conditions about Marriott Rewards credit. I wonder if these will count for stay/night credit and earn points?

I will interpret silence as yes. They would have to warn you if no credit were going to be given, it seems to me.

They do say no other discounts can be applied. Presume this includes the $25/$50/$100 of two nights at Residence Inn from the Stouffer's Home Style promo.

This came on e-mail
---------------------------
Earlier today we sent you an email to tell you about our new eBreaksSM program. Unfortunately there was a programming mistake which may have made it difficult to subscribe. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. We have fixed the problem and are resending the message so you can sign up for eBreaks - Marriott's best weekend rates. If you prefer, we invite you to sign up by calling our Customer Care Center at 1-800-752-7571 and selecting prompt 1.
-------------------------------------
I got an e-mail saying thanking for signing up so I think I'm enrolled. If you didn't get that you might want to try again or call to get the e-breaks e-mail.
