Mariott Munich
I will stay there on New Years Eve for one night on a priceline rate. What can I expect?

Mrs. DL and I stayed there on New Year's Eve (Silvester, as they call it in Germany) several years ago. The hotel offered several different packages, including various dining options and a dance party. If you want to do one of these it is best to check with the hotel in advance and book your reservations, since these tend to book up (I suppose it is a popular activity for the local residents).
One other thing I recall is an awful lot of noise (fireworks and the like) at midnight, even though the Marriott is located in a fairly quiet neighborhood.
If you have specific questions about the hotel, e-mail me (we've stayed there several times).

I'm staying at the Munich Marriott as I read this. I'll agree with the comment from DENROC.....typical Marriott. The California Grill does a great breakfast buffet and offers a relatively upscale evening dining experience. The Champion's Sports Bar draws a lot of locals watching the incessant soccer on the various screens.
There are not a lot of dining choices in the immediate area unless you jump a cab....they always have a dozen or so lined up outside...or take the U6 subway downtown. The subway is just a couple blocks away.
Enjoy your visit!!

We were at the Munich Marriott in early September -- got free breakfast every day (Platinum)and free drinks at Champions. Very easy to get on subway, a bit tough to find by rental car. We rented a car right at the Marriott (Enterprise), brought to hotel and dropped off at hotel with good rate. Hotel was pleasant, the "spa" had decent massages, pool was pleasant, etc. Overall we had a good stay.
