Those comment cards

Ha anyone ever received any feedback from a Marriott if they fill in the comment card and drop it in the box? I have used them to praise and to condemn as I saw my stay. I have never had any feedback from any of them. Are they even read by the hotel manager? do they do any good?

I complained on one of those cards at the Memphis Marriott (airport) and didn't expect any type of response. Low and Behold, about a month later I rec'd a phone call from the Sales Mgr and she asked me questions about my problem and then sent me a cert for a free night.. I was impressed.

No replies from the Asian and European Marriotts I have filled this card at.

Perhaps they are just being thrifty and not sending replies even though gathering the data.

I don't bother with Marriott comment cards any more, unless some aspect of the stay was exceptional(ly good or bad).

My comments at Asian Hiltons and Starwoods have nearly always been acknowledged.

About 3 months ago I filled out one of those comments cards re the poor service and long wait in the restaurant. Never heard anything back verbally however one night when I checked in again I found a big tray with food items sitting on the desk with a nice card from the restaurant manager.

I take it they do read those comment cards.

I like to fill them out to commend especially helpful employees. When I have indicated to an employee that I want to make a special mention, they seem truly appreciative.

I was surprised to receive follow-up letters from 2 of the 4 Marriotts in the U.K. where I filled out cards on my last trip. I assumed the cost would preclude a response on their part. Seldom receive any from hotels in North America.

Have never received a reply- and the comment card I filled out went direct to Marriott HQ. I complained about worn out (torn) sheets being put on our bed on two different occasions during our stay at a J.W. Marriott hotel. No response- and no real response from the hotel itself when I complained to the front office manager. All I got was "I'll inform the Housekeeping Manager. Sorry about that".
