Does anybody know if Marriott gives FF miles for Priceline rooms? I got a letter from them today saying they wont since it wasn't in my name? thanks

That's their policy. No points for stays paid by third parties (which includes Priceline and lots more).

It is generally a safe bet that if you Pre-pay for your room you will not get points/miles, unless it is through that particular hotel's own website.

I stayed at the Amsterdam Renaissance last month on a Priceline reservation and got 179 UA MP miles, even though I didn't have anything on my bill when I left.

Marriott does not even credit points for incidentals on a Priceline stay, which is a little strange.

I would not count on getting credit, but I have in the past received credit for a priceline stay at Residence Inn and Courtyard. Just hand them your card at check in and see what happens you have nothing to loose.

You should get the points for incidentals although you may have to follow-up to get them.
I recently stayed at the Renaissance in Monteal and a Marriott in Toronto. Points for the Marriott posted within a week but I had to email Customer Service and then fax my statement from the Renaissance to get the points.
