Good Luck!!!

I have found that this hotel is a Zoo of Weddings on Weekends.

It is a great location, but everyone in So. CA thinks so also.

I would opt for the Marriott Del Coronodo (sp?).

It's Marriott's Coronado Resort - a lovely hotel, but if you say Del Coronado that means the Hotel Del Coronado, also on Coronado Island. The "Del" is famous, infamous, and unique. Except that it's on the sea, it doesn't do a lot for me, personally, but lots of people love it, and many more tromp through it daily. The Marriott on Coronado Island is on the bay side, in a very quiet location, and looks back over to downtown SD - a gorgeous view day or night.

TH, sorry I can't help about the Marina. I've seen the main areas, etc. is about all. Jib is right in that's it's a large convention hotel (surprise! next to the convention center, which I'm sure you knew anyway.)

If you don't mind, I'd like to know if the lounge is open on the weekend! It's always bloody expensive when we've looked, esp. compared to the hotel in Mission Valley or my aunt's house.

But if you like boats, the Marina (which it actually is!) and the Coronado Marriotts have a wonderful little boat that goes back and forth between them during daylight hours. If you're uneasy about boats, avoid.

I was upg last Nov to concierge floor during a convention Sat-Thurs. I am fairly certain the concierge lounge was open the entire time. I like the hotel but I have only been there for conventions and like being 5 min walk from the conv. center.

Stayed there over a year ago on a reward... was upgraded to a marina view on a high floor. It's a beautiful hotel with excellent service IMO. One of the best steak sandwiches I've had was at their outdoor patio cafe overlooking the marina.
