Should I go for status with Marriott?

Here is the scoop....I am PLT at Starwood and Diam at Hilton. Right now I have 10 stays at Hilton which during the promo = 20. I am only 8 away for requal. I have 6 stays at Starwood and need 20 to requal. I should easily get HH requal in another 2-3 weeks and Starwood I can get easy throughout the year. Question is, come May when I am all requal, should I go for Marriott status. I was gold before the change a few years back and got dropped to silver for 2001 and got extended for 2000 eventhough I haven't stayed there in about 18 months. I have 70,000+ MR points. FYI I have 80000+ SPG points and 400000+ HH points. Info would be appreciated.

I do this except in a different order. I'm using the 2X credit for each night to requalify plat at MR, will make my 40 nights/20 stays in spg this spring, then do my 28 stays/60 nights at hilton this summer or fall and if time permits make a quick run at the Hyatt, I do this every year and the order just depends on the promos in effect at the time to maximize efficiency.

If you can do it easily, I see no reason why not too. Some will argue keep all your points in one program, but I have so many points in all but the Hyatt that it doesn't make a heck of lot of difference to me.
