Double Points -- Do all Marriott Brands Count?

Would a stay at a Fairfield count towards the Double Points/Double Stay offer?

I need to find a cheap location to book for 1 night so that my next stay already booked for New Orleans gets the Double/Double treatment.

I figure the cheapest are Fairfields in off beat locations -- but before booking I want to confirm that it will count as my first stay in the program.

Please help.

If you have an Entertainment book and looking for a "1 night throwaway stay" to qualify for the double/double on your real stay, it's worth checking to see if any FF Inns are on the 50% off list at www.entertainment.com. This might get you that room even cheaper and the Entertainment rate counts for points and nights.

I got the RI in Las Vegas for $58 a night using this.
