Marriott Downtown Memphis
A question... has anyone stayed at this location? How about in one of the suites? Please post info (or email) about your experience at this location. I am looking especially at the suite info. How are they (size, condition, etc.)? I am looking to treat my wife to a special weekend in Memphis and wanted to stay downtown. Thought I might as well stay with Marriott if the rooms are nice as this is where I stay 95% when on business.
Thanks in advance... George

Stayed there this time last year for a weekend for a friend's graduation. Got a great rate ($108/night )2000 bonus points and free tix to Graceland "The Elvis Presley Package." I don't think it was offered again this year. Too bad. The property was nice although we were not in a suite. Don't know if you will have a car but I believe parking was $5/day but there were no in/out privileges. Started parking on the street after that. (It was a rental after all)
Being platinum, I was able to use the lounge Sunday night (it wasn't open on Friday and Saturday). Had to pay for drinks though. Nice view of the Mississippi. The hotel is also right on the streetcar line that runs downtown so you can take that to the Beale Street vicinity.
I enjoyed my stay there because of the perks and because it met my needs for that trip.
If you are looking to be closer to Beale street it may not be your best choice. E-mail me if I can answer any other questions.

My son and I stayed there earlier this year and liked it a lot. Not much to say beyond the previous post.

CMW, thanks for the info. I would really like to hear about the suites. Are they worth the extra money? This will be a personal trip w/wife and I want this to be nice. I have stayed at the Peabody and while nice, I think overprice/rated.

The hotel is nothing special, but if you can catch a reasonable rate, there is no reason not to stay there.
Just stayed there last week. Just a typical Marriott.
