Experience w/Marriott Sawgrass?
Booked the Marriott Sawgrass resort for Labor Day weekend. The rates for their villa suites seemed pretty good so we're going to give those a try. The pictures of the property on their website looked nice, but I'd like to hear comments from anyone who has stayed there. Thanks!

You'll love it. If you are a golfer you'll go ga ga (at least my golfing buddies did). The resort runs golf specials, check w/resort if you wish.
I liked the property except the walk from the parking lot because I did not valet, maybe the property was full, but it was far!
I got upgraded to a top level floor.
I liked the pool area, although the beaches are close by.
Service was slow in the restaurant, but very fast at the pool.
I had business in downtown Jacksonville which it is not close to (25 minute drive) but then it is not far enough away if the downtown area interests you.
That is about all I can remember.

Simple question: Is this resort actually tied in to the TPC course with the island green? Or is that something totally different...

If you stay at the Marriott at Sawgrass, you will have access to tee-times on 5 different golf courses in the area. One of them is the Stadium course at the TPC Sawgrass which is where they play The Players Championship at the end of March. Hole #17 is the island green.
