Paying for points
I read online that I could pay for up to 10% of an award with cash. What is the rate?

$10.00 per 1,000 points. Can be purchased in increments of 1,000 miles only, up to 10% of any award being claimed. Pay with credit card to get miles or more points.
I believe transactions like this should generate 3 Marriott points per dollar when paying with Marriott Visa, but that didn't happen for me. Transaction went through fine, but only got 1 point per dollar. Am currently filing appeal with First USA.
