room upgrades
I was wondering how easy it is to upgrade in advance using points from a regular room to a suite ... ? I have not been able to find anything about this on the Marriott website ...

I believe the only opportunity to upgrade using points on an award reservation is the 5,000 point upgrade award at certain properties. This doesn't guarantee a suite, but an ocean (or river or some other premium) view. If you are Gold or Platinum, you can still request an upgrade. Good luck!
