Rewards questions
When I am redeeming Marriott points for a night of stay, do I have to be there for the check in, or can someone else with the receipt check in without my presence?

You can make a rewards stay in someone else's name if you aren't going to be there at all. You just have to call to make the reservation.*
If you are simply arriving later, you can add them to your reservation to allow them check in early.
*Promo. night certs are not transferrable, but award stays with points are.
