Marriott credit on tours

I am planning a trip to Hawaii next month and I am using a travel agent will I get credit for staying at the hotel? Do I have to do anything special?

PS Which Marriott is better or Renaissance? I got a good rate for 129 for the 300 sqmeter room at the Marriott Waikiki and I got a rate of 145 at the Renaissance for the 600 sqmeter room.

Yes, you will get Marriott points. Just make sure when you check in that they have your number.
There's been a lot of discussion here about the Oahu Marriotts. Take Marriott Waikiki over the Renaisance in this case... it is a new Marriott, and looks like you're getting a good price deal because of that. It is four star, as over against Renaisance's three star, and is a far better location, IMO. We plan to split a stay this summer between the Marriott Ihilani and this new Marriott Waikiki.

Good luck. Enjoy the vacation..
