Points for Ramada International
Ramada International shows up as a Marriott property. You can't get Ramada points for stays there, but I've been unable to confirm if Marriott points are avaliable. The web site, www.ramada-hotels.com, shows up with a Marriott header.
Does anyone have any info on the relationship? Has anyone stayed at the property in San Juan, PR?
Any input would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about the property in Puerto Rico, but I do know that Ramada does not participate in Marriott Rewards.

Marriott purchased a large stake in or perhaps maybe even all of Ramada about two or more years ago.
I'd check out the Marriott website for info at www.marriot.com

I think that Ramada International, and New World Hotels too, were owned by the Renaissance chain, which Marriott purchased some time ago. Marriott has been gradually phasing out the Ramada International and New World chains and reflagging them as a Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard etc... Examples include the Marriotts in Milan and the French Riveria, which were once Ramada International properties, the New World in Hong Kong, which became a Renaissance, and several New World hotels in China, which have joined the Courtyard chain. As long as the Ramada International or New World property has not been reflagged, we unfortunately cannot earn Marriott Rewards points.

When browsing through the German Ramada International pages I found a link to Marriott Rewards ... thus they should participate.

I have been told that the Marriott on the French Riviera is not that great. On the other hand, I would be anxious to see the Ramada Int'l resort on the island of Sicily reflagged as either a Marriott or a Renaissance, soon, because I would love to travel to Sicialy, as well as earn some points!!!
