Never stayed there. It's across the street from the beach. Used to be a Holiday Inn. It would seem to be fine.

Great place! It sits on the corner of Ocean Blvd. (aka, A1A), and East Atlantic Avenue...

I stayed there for a week or two when I moved here...

They have REALLY NICE suites on the 6th floor but do not advertise them.. You have to call the hotel directly, and request them.. They are really nice..

If you have any questions about the area, let me know, or email me, as I live down the street..

DelrayChris--I assumed that you were from there! I will email you with a quesion or two. thanks.

Is the hotel right on the beach or across A1A? How about the non-view rooms (the one I would get with an award stay? Is it worth the extra 5,000 points to get the guaranteed upgrade to ocean view?

As I wrote several posts back:
It's across the street from the beach.

I found the Delray Beach nice, but nothing exceptional. I probably wouldn't choose it for an award stay if you're looking for a first-class beach resort, but I wouldn't rule it out either if you're looking for a decent facility near a nice beach.

I saw both an ocean front room and a non-ocean front room and the ocean front room was *much* brighter and more appealing. The other room was an Embassy-Suites type of suite with a separate (and dark) "living area."

The property has a bit of an awkward layout (I think there was an original building and a subsequent addition.) The restaurant is around the corner from the ocean and is not very resort-like.

Anyone stay here and have a specific room number that they love. An oceanfront room, but doesn't have to be a suite (in fact better that it isn't a suite, I think it may be more likely for me to get, now that I"ve fallen from Platinum status).
