A Marriott Tip - Just Learned This
Maybe I'm just dumb, but I never realized this...
When you are staying at a Marriott, and your company is paying for the stay, be sure you give them your MR number!
I had a conversation with the desk clerk at the Desert Springs Marriott tonight. I was asking if I could give them my MR number, so I could get free access to the concierge lounge. Well, they don't have one at this property, but she said, "By all means, let's put your number in so that you'll get your stays credited towards elite level next year."
I did not know this. But it seems that even if someone else is pickingup the tab, Marriott will STILL credit you with nights stayed. So, if this is true, it wouldn't hurt to be sure they always have your number. Plus, you will still get points credited to your own personal purchases, like room service or gift shop purchases.

You always give your membership number to all airlines/hotels even if your company/client is paying the bill.
They will always credit your account except for government employees.
If you have previous Marriott stays, you should contact Marriott to get the credit.

Just the same if your picking up the tab for several rooms. Give your # to cover all the rooms so you get the points for everyone's stay
