any specials running?

Is Marriott going to run anymore specials this year like the one that ended recently? Double points or something. Once you hit 75 nights, why no use another chain to get to their top level.

check out the Marriott website - there are some specially selected (mainly new) hotels offering point bonuses, however i didn't see anything listed like the great promo. that just ended. i made a ton of points from it.

oh well, only 2 more nights to go for PLT requal. - then i will try Starwood the rest of the year.

I may be naive, but I have a question for you guys. Even though I may have hit my 75 nights for Marriott, why should I start all over again with another chain? The way I look at it, I get a 30% bonus at Marriott and 3 points for every dollar on my Visa so why not stay with one chain and rack up as many points as possible? I have over 400,000 points in my account and will be cashing in 5 night's worth to stay in London this fall. It's not that I'm completely enamored of Marriott, but I always felt that it's better to 'max the max' and concentrate on one chain (or airline)rather than having a few points here and a few points there. Just my 2 cents worth.

Paul,
I agree with you, but if your travels are like mine, I don't have Marriotts everywhere. I stay at Hilton once I hit 75 nights at Marriott so I get the FF miles and the points. To me, 30% isn't the best. I like being able to turn in rewards to places Marriott doesn't go.
