Finally got the upgrade!
I've been a Platinum member for about a month now, and got upgraded this week for the first time! There was ONE available King/Spa suite and we got it! 
I have to say, it's verra, verra nice... Even Jacuzzi brand-name whirlpool... finally all the travel is paying off (hey, I enjoy the simple things.

Courtyard Marriott in Pleasant Hill, CA... tried again this week, but no luck this time...

Upgrades at Courtyards (like Residence Inns) are not that frequent since they, noramlly, don't have a lot of rooms that are "nicer" that their standard room.
If they do, it is normally 1 or 2 suites for the entire hotel.
