I recall reading somewhere that this project was halted midway through construction as a consequence of the financial meltdown (but cannot find this link).
As an aside--I was excited about this new build as a great way to use my MR points.
More recently, all RC Reserve properties are off limits to MR points (even though MR offers partner redemption opportunities to non-Marriott owned hotels).
I guess this is yet another wondrous new idea that has emerged since Arne Sorenson took over as CEO....
PS Hyatt's Andaz may have a future property in T&C--so I am starting to accumulate some Hyatt points.

Registration is free. The article doesn't really say much other than another investment company bought into it & will pour more $$ into finishing it. Construction is to restart this year, with no date given on the restart or expected finish.
Too bad that the RC Reserve brand is off-limits when it comes to Marriott points.
