Marriott Miles
This is a great program. I think i can earn a free airline ticket faster here than by collecting Rewards points. So easy.

You're not kidding! Marriott Miles is a great way to add miles to a frequent flyer account especially if you're willing to switch hotels multiple times during a week. Last year when they ran the double take bonus promo I was able to add 100,000 miles to my United account in about 6 months by staying at Marriott on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays and elsewhere on Mondays and Wednesdays. The promo has ended but the regular 2500 bonus miles after 5 stays is still pretty good.

ugh. Maybe it's a chick-thing, but I groan at the thought of checking out every morning. And as my business trips put me in one place for (at least) several days, I opted for Marriott Rewards. Even get credit for my room-service breakfast! Assuming you wait until the max level of points to redeem, $150 per stay is the break even-point. er, actually twice that with the 5-stay bonus.
But kudos to MileKing, to accomplish his feat you'd have to spend $30,000!

A lot of people dread checking out each day, but with express check-out it's rather painless. I guess it's something you have to get used to.
Blondie mentions $150 as a break-even, but it really depends on the length of your stay also. If you stay 4 nights/week and collect Reward points you can get a free ticket after about 8 weeks. With Marriott Miles and switching hotels each day, you can only record two stays per week so it will take about 12 weeks. However, if you can stay the other two days of each week at a Hilton and double dip, then the additional miles here will also bring you a ticket in about 8 weeks plus points in HHonors.

Can I request possible mileage bonus for a previous stay?
Hi All - I'm stumbled onto this last night and it is a great site and has a lot of engaged members. I started traveling heavily for a new job the beginning of this year and am looking for guidance on maximizing the airline/hotel miles.
I started staying at the marriott in January and will be staying there about 4-5 day timeframes every couple of weeks. Do you know if I can request any bonus miles for the stays I had in January?
Also - is there a thread that I can read through that can help me maximize my points with Marriott and/or SPG ?
Thank you all once again. This is great stuff.

So my only (other) suggestion would be to sign up for the Marriott Visa.
