Butt-ugly emails from Marriott

I receive beautiful emails notifying me of upcoming stays from Hilton, Holiday Inn, and Choice hotels, but the Marriott ones are super ugly. No pictures, long strings of a typewriter font, weblinks that are whole paragraphs of text, and rather hard to actually pick out the most important details. And yes, I DO have my profile toggled on to receive html emails and it's been that way since the beginning.

Maybe what I should say is that I am looking for something that I can print out and take with me that fits on one page, something that I don't have to paste into Word and then perform major deletes and highlights on to put the relevant info on one page.

I no longer print out the confirmation email when after one day I realized that I never really used it, anyway. Printed it, carried it with me, yet never used it. Seems like a waste of paper and ink.

Today, the email is on my smartphone, in HD, if I ever need it.

No, not set to text, but to HTML. What do other people get?

Not sure if this is different than what you are describing or not. I don't think it's ugly or hard to find the important info in, but definitely doesn't print well either!

Like others, I pull it up on my phone if I need to reference it for any reason, but probably only once in a hundred stays has that happend.

Refresh profile page

I too get the "ugly" emails. I checked my profile and saw that I had chosen HTML. I then clicked on text and then chose HTML again. I saved it as HTML. I then cancelled a reservation and the new email is "pretty".
So it seems that even though my profile said HTML, I was receiving text.

Thought about it, but didn't want to take the time since my MR number and email address aren't on the screenshot anywhere. Plus the reservation number is a past stay.

Just out of curiosity, what risk am I taking by putting this info out there?

The same risks as posting any information on a public forum...

1. Your email address *****@NAVI****.COM
2. Bad guys could use this for more recon, using social engineering against marriott call center, or yourself.
3. More bad stuff

crjask: I tried your technique, clicking off html to text, then rechoosing html and saving-- but I still get the butt ugly emails. Oh well, there appears to be no solution.

It's kind of like ugly bedspreads: not critical to the stay but not completely insignificant, either.

Yea, I get the same emails but I don't read them or print them...
I guess you need to print the email if your name is bob smith or something.
