I was thinking about buying the max ($350 x 2) for my personal use as I will spend this much with Marriott by early Feb. However, it looks like you don't earn MR points when using the gift card to pay for stays. So to earn those 4,000 miles + 700 miles for the spend I would lose 7,000 MR points plus 3,500 for the spend (with MR Visa) 4,700 UA miles vs. 10,500 MR points? Not sure....

although I prefer UA over DL, I think I will stick with the DL promo of a $1000 GC for $900 plus 1000 DL miles, had this also been a 10% Face over Cost that would have been different but Id rather have $100 then 3000 UA RDMs

+1 Craz! So I suppose this offer is OK only for those who really need/ love UA miles. I think I like 10 pp$, Hertz or the various 10% offers better.
