Suggestion for Marriott

A few years ago there was an Elite offer which meant that you could book 2 reward nights and get a 3rd free. I used it to book a room for my parents in Paris.

Could this be bought back as a perk for Elite members?

I think currently for some hotels there is the 4 for 3 reward nights offer, not 3 for 2 though.

The current rewards redemption allows for 5 nights when redeeming points for 4. This is not a promotion so you can get it for all category properties. Lookee here.
