Hello all,
I've been staying at a SpringHill Suites lately that has their basic free wi-fi and then a premium one that is supposedly 4x faster than the original internet but is something like $8/day. Does anyone know if the free internet for Platinum members applies to this? The basic wi-fi is good, but I would like the enhanced so I can talk to my son back home through a webcam when I'm on the road for work. Any info would be appreciated.

Don't know if it applies to SHS but I stayed at a Ren recently that offered a standard internet and a "premium" (faster) internet. As a plat I got the premium for free.

It would definitely be nice if Marriott came out and stated that Plats get the highest I-net access option as a benefit.
SPG does that for their Plats.

Unfortunately, I have been told in the past that I would have to pay extra for the faster option at a SHS. I have not taken this up with Marriott, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I stayed at a FS Marriott recently that had the two tiers. The website where you "login" said Gold and Platinum Elites would only be charged the difference between standard ($12.95) and premier ($16.95). I picked the Premium access. Currently doing the platinum challenge, and the charge always appeared as $0 on my folio. I was even logging in on my iPad with Premium access, all $0.00 across the board. YMMV.
