Two Rooms

If I book 2 rooms in my name will I earn points and nights for both. I need a room for myself for 6 days and a co-worker will be traveling with me that is not interested in joining.

According to the rules you should not get night credit for two rooms, only one, specifically the one you are staying in. If you are going to pay for both rooms, then you should get the points for the spend on both rooms.

Now that's not to say the property won't mess up and post each room separately giving you credit for both as individual stays. MR may review your account and pull the posting. Do not count on the nights staying and plan your status renewal accordingly. Hate to miss status because of an error in posting.

IIRC you get the points for both rooms but night credit for only one room.

See MR T&C for details on how to get points for both rooms as there are specific procedures outlined there.

The verbiage is here:

https://www.marriott.com/rewards/terms/earning.mi

A Member is eligible to receive Points/Miles for staying at participating Marriott brand hotels or Ritz-Carlton hotels for his/her room and up to two additional rooms. At least one of the rooms must be reserved and registered in the Member's name and the Member must pay for all rooms, which payment arrangement must be requested at time of hotel check-in. The Member must also stay in one of the rooms.

So if I choose to earn WN points would I get 1200 WN points for the two rooms (600/room * 2 rooms)?
