email to update promo db

I have received an email supposedly from Marriott this morning to 'reregister' my details for future promos. It 'threatens' that if I don't follow the click through I may not get further details of offers.... that they want to update their database

Seems a bit suspicious given that I currently get no shortage of Marriott promos through.

Anyone else?
Is this legit?

Sounds fishy. Check the full headers to see if it really came from Marriott. Particularly look at the reply-to. I have not received anything like that.

Also got something similar today in my Spam folder. The return email doesn't look quite right. The subject line says something about UK and Ireland promos because of my previous reservations.

I received an email that sounds like the OP's email and it appears legit to me. It was sent from, and the links refer to, the email-marriottuk.com domain. It was a request to opt-in to offers for Marriott in the UK and Ireland, which may explain why not everyone received it.

I received this too and was trying to decide if it was legit. I did stay at a Marriott in London last month...
