Hang on. The title of the second page is "Marriott Rewards® Elite Benefits Guarantee". Maybe the best reading is that the benefits apply to all ELITE levels, since the page is about elite benefits.

Also, would Silver elite be eligible for the same reimbursement as a Platinum?
The difference is in the details - in the table, some brands only award the additional free night certs to Platinums.

Thanks MDtR-Chicago...

Any idea what a non-status person would get (who used their Marriott account on the reservation)? For some reason, I cannot find the answer to this.

I don't think it's published anywhere. "Industry standard" is on the order of a free room somewhere else and a phone call.

Thanks for your help!
free night at a comparable hotel plus a free telephone call and the points you would have earned had you stayed at the MI hotel if you are a MR member

1980's if that free call included long distance!

Wonder what is considered 'comparable'? If they walk you from a FS Marriott, could they put you in a Courtyard if that is the only hotel available and get away with calling it 'comparable'?

At one point, there were supposed additional protections/compensation if the reservation had been guaranteed with an AmEx card. I don't know whether this is still true.

Amex's policy has always been equal to MI's policy - there's never been any additional compensation above the SOP except for Elite members

A free telephone call can come in handy if one isn't yet in a room & one's cell phone needs to be recharged

Cheers.

the free telephone call is not limited to Platinum Elite members but is offered to all guests who have been relocated so they may contact their employer/family whoever and inform them of their new location however Marriott will never mandate a guest use this offering, it is purely an offering to try and make the situation slightly easier on the impacted guest

While the free telephone call may seem mundane, I assume that it would apply to an international call as well, but even if not and one is travelling abroad, it can save on international roaming fees assuming you aren't using a prepaid local SIM...

Quick question.

I was recently walked from a Residence Inn. I was offered either 60000 points or the two certificates. Not knowing the limitations on the certificates, can someone shed lite on them. IE are they like the megabonus Cat 1-5 or is it any hotel? TIA
