What is the difference between Plat and PP
Have read several threads and see some people list that they are Platinum while others say they are Platinum Preferred and my card says Platinum Elite>
Thank for the information

"Platinum Elite" is Platinum. Platinum Premiere is a semi-undocumented higher tier that has seemingly marginal additional benefits.

According to a number of PPs on this forum...nothing.

While I've had some weird experiences lately as a PP, overall I'd say I get more upgrades and more (sometimes embarrassing) kid glove treatment, particularly at F/S hotels. I wouldn't go so far as saying the difference is "nothing" but on the other hand I certainly wouldn't write home about the difference.

Plat is the level that when you get upgraded you are happy for it, if you don't you are ok with it.
PP is the level where when you don't get upgraded you wonder if the hotel staff has ever heard about PP.

Thus the term "semi-undocumented"
If you have experienced a much higher rate of upgrades vs. PLT, you appear to be the exception from anecdotal evidence on FT. I personally find a much better value using my extra 25 nights on SPG PLT. YMMV.

I do agree with your second assertion about getting good value for 25 nights (really stays) to get SPG Plat.

The issue has always been, when PP 'works' it really, really good, when it doesn't you can't tell the difference with Plat.
