HELP! I need 566 points ASAP...

Is there a quick way to accumulate 566 MR points within the next 9 days? I want to redeem at reward night at a LEVEL 6 and I'm just short.

Thanks!

You could buy points; Marriott claims that they post within 24-48 hours, but I have no personal experience with this. It'd be $12.50 for 1,000 points.

First, are you actually staying at the Cat. 6 property in the next 9 days or just need to make the reservation? If you only want to make the reservation, you can do that without having the needed points in your account. You just need to get them in there before your stay.

Second, if you know anyone who has at least 1K points and is willing to give those to you, Marriott will allow you to pull the needed points from a 2nd account when ordering an award. Marriott's T&Cs state that this is a spouse benefit, but they have no issues letting any two accounts be combined for this purpose. There is some paperwork, signatures, and faxing that needs to be done though.

Third, Marriott will allow you to purchase points with cash. Normally it isn't the most cost efficient way to get points, but for just a few points it might be worth looking at. I think the cost is $12.50 for each 1K points.

One more thought is if you can use an extra night credit, you can look around your area to see if there are any cheap Marriott stays possible. I've seen rates as low as $50 or less around the dallas area and have been known to grab one if I needed an extra night for a Megabonus promo or such.

Just buy the points. It will set you back $12.50.

Hello,

If you purchase points over the phone with a Marriott Rewards representative at the time of ordering your reward; the points will be deposited instantly into your account.

It will only take about 24-48 hours for points to post to you account if you purchase them online.

Kind regards,

Marie

Isn't there some quick way to earn some point via 3rd party partners?

I think the credit card points only post at statement cycles.

For $12.50, it is not worth the hassle to look further.

You're going to pay more than $12.50 for any third party points.

Ya but the whatever money I spend thru a 3rd party will have redeeming value instead of just dumping $12.50 on 1,000 points. Does anyone know how fast points post when buying thru SkyMall online?

Not within 9 days. These transactions may take ages.

1250 USA-based Diners' Club points can be transferred into the cardholder's or "friend's" Marriott account to become 1500 Marriott points. Takes 1--3 days to arrive & the DC dept. is open Mon.--Fri. till 10 PM, closed on weekends.

1. I can't believe you are complaining about some redemption value for $12.50
2. there seems to be a real redemptive value here where the 1000 points you receive qualifies you for a decent award; without the $12.50 you don't get the award
3. you wait till the last minute, shell out the coin, its twelve freakin fifty for cripes sake
