JAZZFEST
Planning early for next years JazzFest in New Orleans.
Looking for people that are attending Jazzfest 2010 and maybe crashing at one of the Marriot's in the area.
I will have about 4-6 people and would just assume get a multi room suite, but not seeing one in the geo.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?

There's a RI in Metairie (about 20 minutes from Jazzfest and ~10 from the airport) that has two bedroom suites https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...eans-metairie/
Also a TP (closer to the airport and five minutes from my house) that has two rooms https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...eans-metairie/
And a RI by the Convention Center downtown (close to the French Quarter) with two rooms https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...ention-center/

I am at the Pere now. Really nice if you have the points and want to burn them. About 2 blocks from the French Quarter.

Hi Fritz1,
If you stay in the French Quarter, it's not far from the (Fair grounds) Jazz Fest. If you stay in Metarie, you are just another 10 min max. Listen, New Orleans is not that big, you can get anywhere in 10-20 min...lol (I'm from there..just stayed Easter weekend @ Metarie Lakeway). If you want to be able to walk to more "tourist" things to do....french quarter...downtown...Harrah's casino...etc, then downtown/French Quater would be the best place. You will have a ball...eat some great food & listen to some great music.

I stayed at the Pere Marquette for the 1st half of Jazzfest this year, and wasn't too impressed. I prefer the Ren Arts or the JW. For multi-room accomodations, I'd agree the Residence Inn Convention Center is the best choice. Don't stay in Metairie unless you have someone who doesn't mind being a designated driver.
FYI, Jazzfest 2011 will be a week later than usual, to avoid a conflict with Easter weekend. Dates are Apr 29 - May 8.
